monastery_duzi.jpg This monastery is situated ten kilometers south-west from the town of Trebinje, in the area called Trebinje's wood. It is only a few kilometers from Tvrdos Monastery. There are no evidences when the monastery was founded. In 17th century, there used to live shepherds who took care of the cattle belonging to Tvrdos Monastery. They prayed to god in a small cottage-like church covered by straw. After Tvrdos Monastery was torn down, a few monks moved here.

Perovica Bridge Trebinje The bridge over the river Trebisnjica was built during the second half of the 16th century. It was built as a legacy of Mehmed-Pasha Sokolovic. At the end of the 17th century it was renamed as the Arslanagica Bridge . The bridge got its name from Arslan-aga who collected tolls on the bridge. During the 1970s the bridge was relocated to a new location a few kilometers away from where it once stood. In its old place came a hydroelectric plant. The moving and rebuilding of the bridge took two years. Today, the bridge is called the Perovica Bridge.

jovan_ducic.jpgJovan Ducic (1871-1943) was a famous Serbian poet, writer and diplomat. The exact date of Dučić's date of birth is still undetermined; it is variously said to have been on February 17 (or February 5 according to the Julian calendar) of 1871, 1872, or 1874, with the latter date most often given. He died on April 7, 1943. He was born in Trebinje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he attended primary school. He moved on to a high school in Mostar and trained to become a teacher in Sombor. He worked as a teacher in several towns before returning to Mostar, where he founded (with Aleksa Santić) a literary magazine Zora ("Dawn").
